Apple Iphone now FCC approved and ready for sale

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved Apple Inc.’s iPhone, clearing the way for the combined phone and music player to hit the shelves. Apple is planning to begin sale of the phone in late june.

What is FCC ? The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States government agency, is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. This ensures that a radio like devices don’t interfere the regulations made. This is required so that each set has their own frequency zone and they don’t interfere with each other in public airwaves.

The FCC Document confirms some of the features like

  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless capabilities and operate in the 1900MHz and 850MHz frequency bands.
  • The phone uses GSM technology and the low-speed GPRS wireless data standard.

Apple IphoneApple has asked to keep the documents and other related diagrams to be private till they want.The AppleInsider.com reported on the FCC approval and also posted many of the documents for easy viewing on its site.
