This is quick post on the day when Google Invites had been rolled out and Twitter was overloaded with Google Wave topic and everybody running around to grab an Invite. I found some of the pretty amusing :

Time Waster : ICycle – Are you ready for the Ice Age ?

Icycle or bicycle ? If you ever dream of cycling over ice, here is a small but addictive time waster game for you. This game lets you bicycle through ice laden mountains and jump over the stingy ice thorns to and find a place. Controls are simple arrow keys.

As you can see I was doing SO Well with 22 life and first stage over. DUH! What I liked most about this game was the sound effects. You would hear the echos when the player dies off or snowy winds passing you so close. It’s awesome.

PS: I forgot to mention the player is simply naked but it is safe for work.

TOURS FROM ABOVE is a website which allows you to take virtual aerial tours (full 3-d view, as if you are a bird) of several popular destinations across the globe, like Seattle, Paris, Sydney, and some other popular places like Qwest Stadium – Seattle, Central Park – New York etc.

Once on the home page of TOURS FROM ABOVE you can choose a category and later click on the place which you want to tour.

Once clicked the tour starts and the aerial view of the place gets loaded with full controls, so that you can browse it from any angle you wish to.

Some places also have a nice music being played while you are touring, which renders an awesome experience to this tour.

Turn your files and folders into floating space asteroids (Classic Arcade Game)

Desktop Blaster is an AIR based arcade game, which is pretty unique and I think could be damn addictive as well.

Once you install and launch this game, it starts the first level by making your desktop objects float in space, and there is object in center, probably a fighter spaceship, which can be controlled using arrow keys and shoots on the space bar press.

So using the arrow keys you need to save the collision of your spaceship, and destroy the space asteroids (files and folders) by pressing the space bar and firing.

When you destroy a folder, the content of the folder pop out and become the floating space objects, as soon as you are done with this, i.e. you succeed to eliminate all the floating objects, you clear the level, now you need to choose a new location (any folder on your computer) and again eliminate all its contents to clear the level.

This is a nice game, for people who need something to recharge themselves in their breaks, but beware this could be addictive.

Go ahead and eliminate the files and folders, I am sure you will love this game.

We have discussed several services which allow you to play around with your photos; here is another nice online tool, which has more than 100 effects to be added to your photos. This awesome service named as Photo505, is a great resource for creating some fake photos and funny stuff.

You can simply click on the effect, and later choose a photo using the browse button and soon the photo with effect will appear in front of you along with several options to share and download the photo. You get embed codes and direct link for the generated photo.

We have been talking about several tools which can be used to play around and have some fun with your photos. Here is another tool of same kind, Eff My Pic, this online tool allows you to add several effects on your photos.

Using Eff My Pic to add effects to your photos is damn simple, just click on any of the effect you like, new page will appear in front of you, here you can have a better view of the chosen effect and on the top left of the page you will get the browse button, browse and later hit the upload button.

As soon as the uploading is done you get several sharing options, and another option to download this processed photo to your computer.

Dreamlines: Experience a dream in Web Browser

Dreamlines is an online utility; give you a dream like experience in the web browser.

It has a simple search engine like interface, simply key in the keywords, anything you feel like, like Morning, Sunrise, Night, Fire, Kiss, etc. and it will show you some images they will not be very clear and exact, you can say, it will be more like a modern art, not very clear but enough to visualize.

So, what it actually does, when you enter some keywords as your subject of dreams?

As per the description given on Dreamlines about page –

“The user enters one or more words that define the subject of a dream he would like to dream. The system looks in the Web for images related to those words, and takes them as input to generate an ambiguous painting, in perpetual change, where elements fuse into one another, in a process analogous to memory and free association.

The system has been developed in Java and PHP. First, a PHP script makes a Google image search of the words entered by the user. Then, the Java applet retrieves the images one by one, and uses them as input to generate an ever-changing drawing.

The pictures are never actually shown. The drawing itself is produced by 1500 autonomous particles in perpetual movement. The last image loaded serves as a sort of virtual terrain for them. The direction and speed of each particle is given, at each step, by the color values of the pixel they are stepping on. Different sets of formulas translate the hue, saturation and brightness of the pixel in angle and velocity values for the particle. The path of each particle is traced to the screen, and this forms the output seen by the user.

Thus, the work is at the same time a study on population dynamics, or on the emergent behavior of a multitude of very simple autonomous agents.”

IPL fever can be experienced all over; people rushing from offices to catch the live matches, crowd on the roadside stalls etc. are the couple of examples of this fever.

Well, I don’t have any interest in Cricket, but people around me watch the matches regularly, so I too keep getting the glimpses of these matches, one thing which I am very much interested in is the Vodafone ad campaigns.
