Blackberry Master control program is one stop application for managing your BlackBerry device from your desktop. This application combines lot of features and information into one place. Though this program is not very complex but you still should understand what you are doing. Here is the list of features :

Take screenshots which can be set to Auto Capture or Auto Save. There is no screen recording feature yet.
Set the device time right from here if you hate pushing so many buttons. I have mine synchronized with network so dont have to worry much about it.
You can turn the connectivity or the radio on or off.
Recover memory, View logs, Find which modules, ALX. JAD are installed,
You can also clean wipe your handset and reinstall the OS from here. You have lot of options which can be configured like which modules to backup or selective i.e. IM, Themes, Games etc.

BB Master control program

You can compare it with Control Panel in Windows which brings all small and big things on one place and lets you manage. Its a good alternative to BlackBerry Desktop Manager but needs a clear understanding on how to use it. Download BB MCP from here and read more on it here

Acrobat.com now on your Blackberry [ scanR App ]

Finally Acrobat is into the Smart Phone market with their first official app for BlackBerry developed by ScanR, which allows you to view or fax your documents from your Acrobat.com account on supported mobile devices. You can also upload document images and have them automatically stored as searchable PDF files in your Acrobat.com account.

ScanR already have a blackberry application which lets you scan any image which can be faxed and uploaded but now working with Acrobat.com you can store it as PDF also.

Also this application is only available in 4 countries i.e. US, UK, France and Germany. If you do fall in any of these download the app from here

Sending it as a fax did not make any sense to me but now with Adobe’s application combine I would like to save it more to my online account and send emails anytime I want.

Mini Paint brings Image editing with Fun in your Blackberry

Mini Paint ( Beta ) developed by BB4 Software is an Image editing software for BlackBerry which lets you do some basic stuff which is not available with your BlackBerry and like I said its gets you on Fun side of image editing than professional work.

Features :

Supports ClipArt i.e. putting a turban or glasses on your kids face is easy now.
Add bubble text to your images.
Add text to your images.
Lets you zoom in and out for better accuracy.
Crop Images.

I played around for an hour with this software and it is still little buggy to be used in full fledge. BB4 still need to work around on how controls should work like when I tried putting a clip art rotating was damn difficult.Minimum requirements are: OS 4.5 and a display of 320×240. For example, BlackBerry® 8800, BlackBerry® Curve™ 8300, BlackBerry® Bold 9000, BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900.

Seesmic Twitter Blackberry App is fast and feature rich

Seesmic has released their Twitter application for BlackBerry recently and I installed it to test and loved it majorly for of two reasons: It’s fast and there is lot more features in it. To be more specific everything is built in the menu which is smart enough to give you right options required at that time.

I have done a little comparison with Twixtreme, another twitter client for BlackBerry which works over wifi. Here is the list of features.

Works over WIFI. Its really great to see that Seesmic has not made sure that their twitter client works fine even if you dont have full plan of BIS.
Interact with any of the Twitter user which is mentioned in any bodys tweet in one click. You can reply and dm.

Direct Messages and @Replies Notification on the Home screen.

Quick Access to latest replies and Direct messages with count displayed. So you know how many are unread. Twixtreme doesnt show that.

However When compared to Twixtreme, Seesmic doesnt have options connected to user like Making it Favorite, How many people the user is following, who are the followers. But on the other hand Seesmic lets you search for any hash tags immediately from there. Find out all updates of that particular user, Email the tweet in one click.

Seesmic settings are better. You can set time interval for refreshing timeline, supports geo location which has been recently introduced by twitter and set number of tweets loaded.

Seesmic supports Twitter Lists which you have created and one which you are following. This is another advantage you get.

I liked the Compose Tweet section also a lot, specially the Photo Upload one. It asks me either to explore file or use the camera. After you use the camera it gets you back to Compose section and asks for permissions to upload the picture. However you dont have choice when it comes to shorten any url. It uses Bit.ly be default. However you do have choice between TwitPic and yFrog.

Scrolling is faster and you can use the option to go to fist or go to last for quick navigation.

Save Twitter Search

Overall Seesmic has done an excellent job for their brand new Twitter Application which I am sure will take over the market. I hope they keep it free and keep it updating. I would highly recommend you to try it out as soon as possible.

RIM has officially launched BlackBerry Theme Studio, an Official tool to create your own personalized theme for BlackBerry theme absolutely free of cost. Though in market you would find lot of pro themes which are sold at a good price but if you really dont want to buy you can download a copy of BlackBerry Theme Studio and make it one for yourself. Download Blackberry Curve 8520 OS 5.0.0.348 ( Leaked )

Today Blackberry Leaks reported a leaked version of BB OS 5.0.0.348 for BlackBerry Curve 8520 which points that sooner or later RIM will be rolling out an official version of it. I tried installing it on my BlackBerry 8520 and it was successful without any issue and its working smoothly till now.

Once you run the setup it will do some installation and then you will have use your BlackBerry Desktop Manager to install the upgrade. As it takes care of backup your data you dont have to worry much about loss in case the installation doesnt work for you. It took around 30 minutes in total for the complete installation.

However its a leaked version so we warn that it might not work for everybody and we do not take any responsibility if something goes wrong. You can download a copy from here.

Quick Search with Google in BlackBerry

My today’s found on BlackBerry App world was Quick Search with Google from RIM. This is nothing more than just a shortcut which opens the result page of whatever you type in your query for google but very handy. I need not to open my Hotspot browser, type in google.com and make a search. It does it all.

If you use the complete BIS plan and searching is your beat, pull in the shortcut from download and put it on your quick access on the screen display. Download it from here

Download Free Task manager for your BlackBerry

Many a times when you have lot of applications running on your Blackberry it becomes slow. Also you might be interested to know what applications are running on the background, how is the battery performing, what’s the battery temperature, how much ram is free etc.

Task Manager ( Free Version ) is a light weight BlackBerry Application, similar to windows task manager, which displays all the running process in your blackberry and how much memory they are consuming.

Also you can see the battery performance and system information to find many more details which is not to straight forward available in BlackBerry OS.

There is a paid version, Task Manager Process Viewer, of this application which gives you more details on hidden applications and Running Processes which cannot be detected directly. Also the paid version helps you to drill down the running applications to find details on size, download date etc.

Download the Free Version from here and Paid version from here. It is supported for BB Os version 4.2 till 4.7. In case you get any issue after downloading via Blackberry Browser I would suggest you to install it via the BlackBerry Desktop manager. There is some issues with the EULA acceptance and should be fixed soon.
