Many a times and thats a scenario with many of us and we keep on doing with no matter how many reminders you set it up and specially when you are in group the problem gets bigger with everybody thinking that someone else will do it. Welcome to the real world!!

Hassle Me is an online reminder service which keeps on bugging you for your work to be completed by email. Though it can be done for one person also but I liked it for group better because it does not send email to all but only one person randomly and when he or she receives that email, that person is going to buzz the other and even if you forgot to check your mail

We have posted about 9 File Sending and Sharing services; here is another service on same lines, SizableSend.com.

SizableSend.com allows you to send files up to 2GB in size, and sending limit for every session is 20GB, i.e. you can send up to 10 files of 2GB each in one go.

The interface is damn simple to use, no registration or sign-up is required, it is totally free. Have a look at its interface.

As shown above, you will have to enter the email address of the recipient, along with your email address and a message. Later select files and hot the ‘Start Uploading’ button, as soon as the uploading is done, an email will be sent to the recipient that the person with following email address has sent you these files with the download link embedded in the email.

I tried but could not find any information about the life span of the download link, generally such services have a time limit after which the uploaded file is deleted from their servers, but no such information is seen on SizableSend.com.

I tested this service for small files up to few 30MBs and it worked pretty fine for me, the uploading process is quite fast and so is the email delivery to the recipient.

So if you are looking for nice free service to send large files, give it a shot, I am sure you search ends here.

Try SizableSend.com

Ashish has already written about Shape Collage, which is an awesome desktop application to create Collage from your photos available on your local storage. Now, Shape Collage has introduced the online version, Shape Collage Online.

All you need to do is, give the URLs (one URL per line) or you can give a URL of particular set of photos from Flickr, Facebook, Picasa, Photobucket etc. You can also make collages using Google image search etc.

Later you need to choose the layout.

And hit the ‘Create’ button and soon the Collage will appear in front of you.

Here you get the direct URL link and Embed code for this collage, also clicking on any photo allows you to see the original photo (i.e. wherever it is hosted).

Shape Collage online doesn’t allow you to create collages using the photos from local storage, if you want to add photos from your local storage, you need to use the desktop application i.e. Shape Collage.

Try Shape Collage Online (Via Lifehacker)

Here is the new entrant in the series, MagoFun, a service which lets you add your photos on magazine covers (fake).

Simply choose a photo and upload it using the interface, as shown above.

Later you can choose a magazine cover, and also drag your photo to hide and unhide the parts of it, in order to fit the magazine cover.

Once done with these steps, MagoFun presents your photo on a fake magazine cover in front of you. You can either right-click on the image and save it, choose to get a embed code for this photo or if you want you can simply post it to several social networking sites.

So, go ahead and have fun.

We have posted about couple of OCR tools, which can easily extract the text from any image file. OCR Terminal and Free OCR both are quite impressive tools, OCR Terminal offers a desktop client too for the OCR conversions and outputs several file formats.

Here we are talking about New OCR, another OCR conversion online tool, this too can convert Images and multiple paged PDF files to get the .doc or .txt file.

Here is a snapshot of the New OCR interface.

Simple browse to give the path of the image or PDF file, change the settings if required, it supports multiple languages, so you can even choose the language, and later click on the ‘Send File’.

Later you get the options to download the .txt and .doc file.

However the performance of this tool isn’t so good.

Here is the image which I uploaded on New OCR and later on the OCR Terminal –

Results, as downloaded from both of them, can be seen below (snapshots of text file)

OCR Conversion via OCR Terminal

OCR Conversion via New OCR

New OCR needs loads of rework in order to output better results; moreover the available output file format list is limited to text and word files, which too is a setback. Yes, being totally free and no sign-up definitely is an added attraction to New OCR.

Try New OCR

We have posted about online scanners, No Virus Thanks and Virus Total, which exploit multiple antivirus engines to scan a single file; here is another tool on same lines.

Jotti’s Malware Scan is an online tool (online scanner), which allows you to scan the suspicious files on your system by uploading it.

Jotti’s Mlware Scan scans the files using 20 popular antivirus engines, like –

Nod32

Kaspersky

AVG

AntiVir

Avast

Norman

Panda

Bit Defender

F-Secure etc.

The interface is pretty simple, just browse the file to be scanned and later hit the ‘Submit File’ button to upload the suspicious file.

Once the uploading is done, soon the scan process is launched and you get the results. Shown below is a snapshot of scan in progress.

So, if you need an online scanner, try it, or in case of doubt, like the false positives (a file being reported as a virus or malware and you still doubt it to be clean) try Jotti’s Malware Scan.

Try Jotti’s Malware Scan
