If you are kind of person who wants to control your digital camera with not expensive solution, CCC is one solution which lets you take screenshot from your computer when the digital camera ( A620/640, S80, S3/5 IS, G7/9/10, and SX100/110 IS ) is connected to your computer via USB.

Free hand photography

Like i had mentioned not all digital camera will work.Since many of the camera including mine, Canon A580, goes to data mode and turns of the camera photo taking ability.

But with supported cameras you can control flash mode, auto focus mode, exposure details. The advantage you get is not only of free hand but the image gets saved directly on your hard disk, letting you escape one step.

Download CCC from the project’s site or from Freeware Files. Via Download Squad

Canon A580 is probably the best digital camera which balances out both price and quality. Its priced 10000 RS ( INR ) with a megapixel of 8 , 4X optical and 16X digital zoom and with 2.5 inch LCD screen. After quite a long hunt a saw a review of can a580 review on TV from tech2.com guys. Even they said its the best if you want to balance out the price and quality.

I bought 2 of them ( one for my sister ) and took the pictures from one of them. Check the pictures so you get the quality of the camera.

It also has face detection with it which will make you feel lively when you take the pictures. Video recording is awesome but with high encoding. 7 to 8 minutes of recording is taking up to 1GB of space which makes me feel buying a 4gb memory card.

If you are wondering about the quality of it you need not to worry. Its put of the box. I have even uploaded and tested it on you tube. You can check out the complete specifications here .

So over all view is if you dont have much cash to invest and still want some quality for camturing momonets at home and do some video recording and watch out in tv go for it.

This article will tell you how you can take good photographs / photo by understanding some of the terms in easy words. An advanced camera will always take good photographs but with digital camera its difficult. So just read on and I can bet at the end of this article you will learn things which will make you a good / better photographer.

Photography is something very close to my heart, always wanted to write something on it, but I always felt that I still don’t know much about cameras and photography, thanks to this friend of mine who gave me the idea to write something, by asking me to explain few things about the digital camera he bought recently. So this made me realized that there are certain things which one should know before you get bitten by the shutter bug big time.

What is ISO

ISO is something that can be referred to as sensitivity of sensor. Higher ISO allows more sensitivity, the definition of ISO can be understood by this simple test

Shoot a picture (where light is reasonably less) at ISO100, and then you go for shooting the same picture in ISO200 or for better realizations shoot the same picture with minimum and maximum ISO allowed in your camera, with the flash turned off, and see the difference.

Higher ISO can be used for shooting in dim light, when you dont want the flash in order to preserve the effect of dim light in final picture, however the noise might appear, but generally its bearable.

Somehow using high ISO adds lot of noise to pictures. Earlier in case of camera with rolls, you were require to get a roll of particular ISO, now in digital cameras it can be set as per requirements immediately.

What is Zoom

Zoom is a method to magnify particular element from the scene which can be seen from naked eyes. Capacity to Zoom in a camera plays an important role in decision making while buying a camera.

Digital cameras come with two types of zoom, digital and optical.Digital zoom somehow is not very useful in sense, that it degrades the image quality big time, whereas, optical zooms help a lot as they magnify using the focal lengths of lens present in camera. So while choosing a camera for you try to get highlighted on the optical zoom capabilities of camera.

What is Pixel

Ever wondered what is the 3MP, 4MP or 5MP camera?, MP stands for million pixels. Pixels can be referred to as those tiny squares which when brought together produce the picture. Shown below is a picture, and its pixel view. Greater the number of pixels, finer is the quality of picture. When we say a 3 MP camera this indicates that the picture shot by this camera has 3 million pixels in each photo.

What is Aperture:

Aperture is size of lens opening which controls the amount of light that is allowed to pass through the lens and reach the film. Higher the aperture lesser the light.

LCD Screen:

This is the screen that allows you to preview the picture shot or being shot by your camera, are very fragile, should be handled carefully. Wipe off with a very soft cloth to keep them clean.

Composing the Picture:

While shooting you should try to compose it well, that means try to fill up the screen area maximum with the object, before shooting make sure the surroundings are not captured in the image, making the object look out of focus.

No light source behind object

Try to keep your object in front of light source, keeping the light source behind the object makes the object look too dark in the final picture.

Autofocus:

Cameras come with auto focus, and to get the proper result of auto focus you need to keep the object in the center of the viewfinder.

These were the few basics which are helpful in getting better output from your digital camera, if you find something which can be added here, please mention in comments.

This is one of the most fav software as it allows to you to create a fake webcam by using already available media files and stream virtual video feeds from your computer. It can be used on Windows 98 ME 2000 and XP. You can also use web clips. This can be faked as a web cam while using along with most popular IM software such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, PalTalk, etc. support real time video chat.

Even if you have a cam it can easily switch from real to virtual and allows you to share pics or videos which you might have shooted and want to show your friends instead of asking them to download it which is not preffered most of the time. VirtualCamera supports most type of media such as pictures(JPG, gif, bmp etc.) and videos(wmv, AVI, asf, MPEG, rm, rmvb etc.). You can also select a folder which contains a lot of media files and let VirtualCamera play them to your net friends one by one.

However this comes at a price of 29$. If you really are a cam freak and want to use it. Download Virtual Camera. A small tip: Look out for cracks. I have seen people using it and I can bet they did not pay any money for it.

#9 Webcam Diagnostics

Having Problem with you cam ? You can get a free checkup of your cam and they will diagnose your cam right from driver installation to USB issues. It can point to problems and can give you suggestions too. Click to Webcam Diagnostics

Panssonic releases its new set of Lumux Camera which has something intelligent what they call as Intelligent Scene Selector. if switched on, replaces a common set of broad parameters that is generally manually activated. It lets the camera take its best guess about whether the scene is one of five modes: portrait, landscape scenery, macro close-up, night scenery and night portrait. Specially when the camera is in portrait modes, it uses the face-detection technology for further refinement.

All three of the new cameras,FX-33, FX-55 and FZ18, feature the face detection and automatic scene selection as well as two earlier technologies, which shifts the image sensor to counteract camera shake, and Intelligent ISO, which increases the camera’s sensitivity to try to deal with moving subjects. Boosting ISO lets the camera use a shorter exposure to freeze action better, but it produces more off-color speckles called image noise.

The prices are in range of 300$, 350$ and 400$.

This sounds a very good news for many people who want to take good photographs but aren’t professional.

Canon A580 Front Looks

Digital Photography is one the most common and interesting art.Everybody wants a camera, but then when we go to buy it we have no idea of “what should be the criteria?”.I went out on discussion with my friends 2 days back who went through a lot of stuff and magazines to get the right idea.So here the post which can tell you what to look for.

What to Look For in digital camera when you buy next

5 Mexapixels: If you are a professional or you want a good quality of output, don’t go below 5 mega pixels or may be higher.

3x Optical Zoom: If you are a hobby photographer 3x will be more than enough but if you are going outdoor shooting, and you want to have good memories with quality buy a 12x.

Memory Options: Flash memories are cheaper these days and its getting lower everyday, so don’t lure into buying a cheaper one.1 GB will be the best buy, you can store around 200 photographs with it.Check the reliability of the card and get the market review for it.

Macro Mode: With this made on your camera you can take stunning photographs of objects like flowers and closer objects.

Rechargeable Lihium-ion Batteries: Avoid camera which asks you to get new batteries every time. When you are on the move its easy to find a power point rather than getting new batteries. So get camera which have a long life batteries (Lithium-ion) and you can recharge them easy.

Indoors and Outdoors: If you are shooting indoor, then you need to have a good flash and if you are shooting outdoors get a 12x optical zoom.Don’t compromise its one time investment.

Connectivity Options: These days connecting with computers is the best option.Get a camera which can connect to your system with USB 2.0.These will not only ease you with data transfer but you can store it temporary anywhere. And as time changes WI-FI will be next option.

Extra Options: Look for something more always.Multiple exposure settings, good shutter speed, white balance options and others.

So what do you think? You have some more ideas then share it.May be you can add here and other can get benefit out of it.You have one?
