Today morning I got an update in Home Screen of BlackBerry telling me to update Blackberry Messenger to version of 5 and it is totally wicked. RIM has not only made it more social but the user interface is completely revamped which would make you feel using it

Here is the list of features :

• True messenger like user interface.
• Status Message, Profile Picture and you get pinged when somebody change their status message.
• You can now send a small Voice notes, picture, symbols
• It lets you broadcast message. to a group or friends.
• My profile lets you set status message, What you are listening to on your phone, Your geographic Location and Lets you display your bar code.
• Scan a group barcode, Pin contacts etc.
• There is now support to add another BlackBerry user by scanning the bar code. Yes Bar code. When you click on the Display Bar code button on your profile, the other user can just scan it and add you.

However I do feel that Blackberry should let me integrate it with Twitter or Facebook, may be in the next release. Loved it anyways. You can visit mobile.blackberry.com to update or do it through a WIFI connection.
