Blurts notifies Email and Calls on your Desktop [ BlackBerry ]

I had always wished to get notified on my desktop when I get a call on my phone. This is specially required when you keep your phone in silent mode. Blurts ( free version) is an application for BlackBerry which gives you an alert for Email and Calls on your desktop connected via bluetooth.

Blurts notifications

There are two parts of this application. One which runs on your desktop and one that will run in your BlackBerry Device. Once you pair up your computer and blakcberry using bluetooth, the applications will connect and turn blue.  Features which are free :

  • Display Caller ID i.e. Pulls the name from your phonebook.
  • Display Email alert.
  • You can buzz your phone from desktop if you are not able to find.
  • Auto Connects once the pairing is done.

Blurts setup

However there are few drawbacks of free version that it auto selects the email id available in your already configured email setup and there is no way to change it. I guess at least it should let me change in free version also if they are giving email alerts. In case you need to change you will have to drop and then let it select another one which is very uncomfortable.

The full version comes in 4.99 USD and is worth its price seeing the feature which is listed as :

  • Display Caller ID Alert
  • Display Email Alerts for all email accounts
  • Bluetooth auto connect
  • Display SMS/Text Alert
  • Send SMS/Text from your computer
  • Answer call from your computer
  • Ignore call from your computer
  • Activate Speaker phone from your computer
  • Control call volume from your computer
  • Place/Dial call from your computer
  • Disconnect call from your computer
  • Blurts will auto start on device reset
  • Options to control alerts

Download the Desktop application and Mobile application by providing the BIS email id which will work like a charm. Via Luis @ Berry Review
