Chat with the visitors Live on your site with Yahoo! Pingbox

Yahoo! Messenger  9, was released recently, and it came with several new features which make it pretty enhanced as compared to its prior versions. One of such feature which was showcased with Yahoo! Messenger  9, is Yahoo! Pingbox.

What is Yahoo! Pingbox

Yahoo! Pingbox, is a Widget, which allows you to chat with visitors of your site, or profile on different social media sites, using your Yahoo! ID (i.e. you should be online on your Yahoo Messenger, in order to let your visitors chat with you) irrespective of, the visitors status i.e. online/offline/even if the visitor does not have a Yahoo Messenger ID.

When you choose to avail Yahoo! Pingbox for you, you get an embedded code, all you need to do is paste it on your site.

How to get a Pingbox

To get a Pingbox, you can create on for yourself, here, the Pingbox creation wizard is simple and self explanatory, just involves two steps -

Step 1.

Choose the background theme (includes Background color, Text font etc.) for your Pingbox, Create a message to be displayed in both the cases, when you are Online, and when Offline, also choose the display name for you at your Pingbox.

You can choose, the website, where you want this Yahoo! Pingbox, or if you want it to be displayed on some independent site, you can go for the ‘Code Only’ option, and then copy the code and you are ready with your Pingbox.

Yahoo! Pingbox seems to be a nice tool, to get a better level of interaction with your visitors, and it might turn up to be a proactive mode of communication, which is something everybody likes to have.
