Do you run System Maintenance ? [ Ask the Readers ]
Today while I was moving couple of files to my other hard drive, Windows 7 Action Center popped up a message asking me to do system maintenance. On going further I notices quite a bit things which windows was checking on i.e Invalid shortcuts, disk errors etc and at the end it gives a report on how your system state is.
All that is good but what was clicking on my mind was Is this enough ? What else we need to maintain. I had made habits on using the computer which ends in less of junk and even crap files but still there is always a need.
So I would like to throw the question to you and seek what do you use ? Any freeware or Professional paid software ? Any key practice you follow ?

CC Cleaner is the best for cleaning up all junk files in windows. Its not only easy but it works fine. I am sure it works better than windows system thingy.
I do it manually using Browsers Settings, Windows Cleanup disk etc. This way I know what is changing.
However for Regsitry cleanup , CCleaner is best. I wonder why did not windows ever came up with an inbuilt tool.
I dont run it, reinstall the windows if your system has grown slow, simple!!
@XEN: If you take care a little you can avoid reinstalling OS and smoothly run PC. I use CC Cleaner also.
@Sameer, reinstalling is a simple option, takes less than half an hour on my puter, and is simpler than managing and using Ccleaner (crappy bit of software).
@Xen : Interesting. Do you use any software for installing Windows or Just the plan old method. I use Norton Ghost Software. You can take a backup after your first clean installation and use it every time.
Piriform’s CCleaner is the best software I have ever seen to cleanup the computer. This has many options
=>Removes temporary browsing files of almost all browsers.
=>Removes recent file history
=>Cleanse registry and removes registry errors
=>Has a facility to uninstall Software (Faster than normal windows Add / Remove Programs)
=>Has a facility to remove the restore points through which you can recover lot of disk space
=>You can manage startup programs.
