Apple home page is displaying “Introducing Itune Plus, Preview and Download higher quality DRM free music“. Thats a good news if you check out the artists like EMI artists such as Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Norah Jones, John Coltrane, Maria Callas, and many more,for sure but the music itself is not free, It will cost you around $1.29 per song. Apple iTune is vista compatible and current download version is 7.2 which is free.
What is DRM Free Music ?
Digital Media Rights abbreviated as DRM is a concept which deals with the protection of digital media being used my others.Its a set of technology or one technology that gives publishers right to or control access of digital media and even restrict to be used somewhere else, similar to content theft. There is a concept where p2p network can make this DRM thing go away. But with Apple giving DRM free music dreams of many people will come true as it costs a lot to buy the whole package itself and they don’t have to fear about being caught. They have a different section for DRM Free music where they sell out the weekly top itunes, This is the current running list right now:-
