Download A-Patch to customize Windows Live Messenger 8.5

Windows Live Messenger is one of most famous chat client used around the world. Its not only user friendly but full of features which makes it more “Live”. With the latest release of Windows Live Messenger 8.5 its more Web 2.0 Style now. However like any other messenger some of the features are buggy specially the “ad windows” which keeps on running all the time. Its actually useless for me because they are not of my interest and I know how these things work. Thanks to AdGlobe Tech Blog Post for finding a patch which can remove some of the most buggy features

What is this A-patch about ?

This patch is an add on to Windows Live messenger 8.5 through which you can customize lot of features from the messenger itself. The installation and usage is very easy, it guides you showing where and which feature will be removed. You just need to download the patch which is in zip format containing a windows executable. Just double click on it and it will show the list of features which you can keep or remove. It also installs a plugin for winamp showing your current song as status. This is what I had been looking for but was not satisfied with any of the available ones. Some of the features which i removed were :-

  • Remove Advertisement
  • Remove Search Bar
  • Remove Nudge Delay
  • Remove Nudge Shake
