Experience on Windows 7 Launch party in Kolkata

31st of October I along with Amit Bansal and few MSP’s Celebrated the Windows 7 Launch Party in Kolkata.  The event was very successful and it was really great to see so many Techies, Corporate Admins to take part in here to know more about Windows 7.

We all started with small introduction  handled by Amit Bansal following My session on Windows 7 features and then finally a quiz on Windows 7.  Here is a summary of few questions, feedback and information and experience which we got from the participants.

  • People still love Windows XP and Windows 7 has a big challenge to move into Corporate world.
  • Is Windows 7 ready for development environment ?
  • Why Windows Vista was a failure ?
  • Why Windows came out with so many editions ? It was confusing for the first time and the advantages of multiple editions.
  • How much hardware change is required for Windows 7 if you are on Vista or in XP ?
  • Running applications on Windows 7 which can run only in Windows XP.

And many more.

I had a great discussion with Amit Bansal and he is pushing hard to get more events to happen in India. I am looking forward to meet more people technical and non tech enthusiastic in Kolkata to make people more aware on Windows, Mobile and Internet which we talk about here a lot.  Thanks to Mera Windows team and Abhishek Kant which helped us in organizing this even successfully.
