Find how safe a road / street is with Accident Heat Maps

Accidents are common on  roads and highways and probably unavoidable. Lets say if you are travelling from one place to other and you want to take a safe route, how you plan it ? Most of the time I do it by asking lot of people about road conditions and specially at night time.

Risky Roads is an online service which lets you find how much a road had been  prone to accident and it goes to level of street address and national highways. The heat map is shown on google maps with dots of colour from yellow to red, where red signifies the road to be very unsafe.

You can enter the city or address and get this kind of heat map. This heat map shows  several dots with colors which signifies the level of accident I told you. Each of this dots has lot of information in it about that particular street.  When you click on it, you get the details on number of fatal accidents, drunk and drive cases, hit and run etc. You can see the sample below.
