Find safe and efficient Bike routes [ US only ]
If you are traveling via Bike to any place specially if its a long drive, its always good to plan before what road you would take. Many a times there are lot of alternatives availble but arent aware of that. Most of the road traveling instincts are experience based or suggested.
Ride the City is bringing you pretty much same but with finer details by keeping in mind the shortest distance so you reach fast but also follow the BIKE Lanes and park which can make you reach ahead of time instead of getting late while holding in a traffic jam.
- RTC avoids roads that aren’t meant for biking, like highways and busy arterial streets.
- RTC tries to steer cyclists toward routes that maximize the use of bike lanes, bike paths, greenways, and other bike-friendly streets
Another important aspect of Ride the city is it keeps track of lot of Bike shops and including one those rent out bikes. This is pretty useful if your bike needs a repair or give you an option to take a bike on rent if dont have one.
Both the Route Map and directions can be printed out with map showing on the top. This was the first thing I looked for when I started exploring the service without which it would have become no very useful,
