Finding Images on Google Maps with Flickr
What Where and When is a new application which allows you to search images around the world with tag targeting any country with scope i.e. regional, country, neighbourhood or Continent view. The images are pulled up from flickr using the goe tags they have.
Where can you use it ? Being around your city this could be one of the best resources to find out what intrest the city. Like many people when they visit places like a mall, theaters etc , put images with comment.
We had talked about abother search image on google maps mashup , Earth Album , which does almost the same but you get a complete detail of the picture with Title and what it means.
With What where and when you dont get that option but localization is much more accurate in this. Another advanatge you get is using your own flickr photos ( authentication required ) to see the mashup on google maps. You can see how many places you been , tag what so special about them etc etc.
Each time you find images here, the areas containing the tags are marked with yellow circles. The size and density of the circle depends on your tag density i.e. The size of the circle on any given place indicates how many photos were taken there. When you click on a circle you get thumbnails of the photographs. Try out What where and when
