FireFox New Tab features makes sense
The next version of Firefox browser ( Available in beta version now ) is going to get one of the most expected feature which had been expected from sometime. Redesigned New Tab, which is no more just a blank tab.but now shows the most frequently visited sites ( Quick Access Strip) thumbnails like you have in Chrome browser a with some more features added. Lets have a look.
Quick Access Strip
However there is one difference here. This Quick access strip, where the thumbnails are shown, can be rearranged by the user to change the order. By default it is determined by frequency of access that you actually begin browsing from just like the awesome bar works in the address bar.
Apart from this with each item of quick list you can also see the the set of pages visited along. Like the one below
Accidentally closed tabs
New tab also gives you a direct option in case it finds any of the tabs had been accidentally closed by the user.
Search Copied Text
If you had copied a text which you want to search and then opened the new tab in firefox, it gives a direct link saying Search for “copied text ”
Direct link to open copied links
If you have copied a link and open a new tab, it gives you a direct link to open it. This step saves you an extra step to copy the url to address bar first and then hit enter.
For using this feature now you will have to first install the beta version and then download the About:Tab addon . You can find the complete details and instruction on their official post of New Tab features

Well Not very New and inventive as OPERA already have similar functionality and options and have had that for a period of time already.
Why dont I ever see posts on the OPERA browser on this site ??
@Xander : true not very innovative but probably useful features adopted from other browsers so that even Firefox users also can use it.
On Opera question, I will take that into consideration. We dont use opera much so thats the reason. But lets see at least we can track it . We will see what we can come up with.
