Google Maps Whats here ?
Google Maps became more useful. Whats here is a feature recently implemented on Google maps which pops up when you right click any where on the map and the results are just awesome.
The result is actually a mashed up result which includes :
- The place name.
- Photos – Which gives you a preview of the area and places in there.
- Landmarks
- User created maps
- Top contributors list along with reviews.
This gives a whole new meaning to the Google Maps. Instead of just looking around with names you get more information that can be digged into. This information can also be taken from Google Maps API here which they call it as Reverse Geocoding and put into applications. I am pretty sure the developers must be more excited about it to put this magic right into the core of their applications.
