Google is going to change the way people do searches. Instead of keeping it more of “Simple Text” , we will see a complete new search engine result with images, maps, time line and “Vertical searches” ( Whats that ?). They announced in press release “The ultimate goal of universal search is to break down the silos of information that exist on the web and provide the very best answer every time a user enters a query. While we still have a long way to go, today’s announcements are a big step in that direction.”

Thats a true fact. Google has done a lot to make search engines give better results but when I looked at the glimpse of what is coming !!!! Its really smashing

The new features can be listed as :

• Vertical Search.
• Blending of Images along with result ( specially when you search for books)
• Blending of videos and maps.
• Local Result Blending.
• Enhanced Video search which not only searches from Google videos and you tube but also around the globe ( Hence Universal :))

On vertical search, Right now when you do a search its more like you get rows of results one after the other. Google is redesigning it to give a new vertical slots which will not only be blended but more related.
