In case you dont like to use any of email client like Microsoft Outlook or Thunderbird here is brand new option for firefox users. A new extension / plugin - SIMPLE MAIL , lets you manage your email accounts which have pop or IMAP facility right into your Firefox browser.

You can do all the things which you could have done with your email client. Reading, writing, sending and receiving mails and what not. Here are some more feature:

• Configure one or more accounts in Preferences, set account refresh time and get notified of new mail.
• When new mail arrives, Simple Mail shows new messages count in status bar.
• Has a toolbar for quick access.

This is little new plugin and there could be bugs here and there but this should be a best hack ( As far as I can guess ) if you want to access your mails from office where Gmail or yahoo mails are genereally blocked. So instead of using some proxy you can use this to accesss as this will have your browsers permission. However I will update you on this when I try it. So go ahead and try the Simple Mail Extension for firefox
