Microsoft Search Together : Collaboration has a new face

All these times we have seen collaboration in terms of Sharing documents, tracking it, approving or rejecting the updates and maintaining versions. Now Imagine a situation where 3-4 people who are involved in a project and they are trying to hunt down a problem. As you see they all are looking for same thing so what happens if you add the power of collaboration in SEARCH!!!. Bingo You will not only find things quickly but as you share  you will find things correctly.

Microsoft has come up with this technology which is still in beta and under research . They call it as Search Together

Advantages which I see with Search Together:

  1. Search Time gets reduced..
  2. Better output as you dont waste your time looking at right place.
  3. Its integrated with Live Id and a plugin is availble which allows you to use it as you chat.
  4. You can create different sessions or call it as channels which remembers the old results.
  5. The only constrain is you will need IE7 and Windows Live ID.

Now you must be thinking its Microsoft so It must be only restricted to Live Search but wait. You can inlcude all the three major search engines Google,Yahoo and Live into this. Makes Sense.

Here are some snapshots which I took directly from the research site as I am not able to test it right now.

You can download the plugin from SearchTogether Site and there is a tutorial also availble. Do give it a try and tell us how useful you found it. I have fixed a metting with Manav so that we can test it and then come out with more test and review result
