PDF editing support comes to Open Office

SUN  has now developed an extension which will allow PDF files to be imported and can be edited in the DRAW application of Open Office. It preserves the layout and  allows basic editing. It is the perfect solution for changing dates, numbers or small portions of text. However the native PDF forms are not yet imported.

This extension is still being tested and is in beta stage. This PDF import extension also enables to be present as a PDF with the embedded source file as ODF.It requires the OpenOffice.org 3.0 beta 2 to work and is also compatible with StarOffice 9. if you are eager to try it just download it from Open Office Extension Site

The download is availble for Linux,Windows,Solaris (x86 and sparc) , MacOsX
