Pixolu - Smart search engine for finding images

Pixolu , search engine precisely for Images but it has one major difference. Once you search an Image you can refine your search by once again making another search using that image as a key. Basically call it a contextual search engine. And there is no end, you can keep drilling down unless you find a more accurate match. It uses Yahoo, Flickr and Google.

Lets make it more clear :

  • Search an Image with a keyword ( e.g Pizza )
  • Select the best image out of it. ( you get all types of pizaa in result )
  • Now use that image to search again. ( Select the one you like )
  • Get better result ( You get pizza which are similar to the image you selected )

I searched for Pizza and then selected a type of Pizza and got more closer result.

On clicking of the image you can find the details i.e. the exact url of that image and size of the image. However I find one thing missing in it. They should have added description and displayed along. This would let users know much better what that image says and they can further refine the results. I hope the team is hearing. :) Check out Pixolu
