Print without Ink with Zink

Zink or Zero Ink technology allows you tot print without a need of old ink cartridges. ZINK is a breakthrough technology that produces on-demand color images and photos - without ink, ribbons or toner. The company which is spin-off of Polaroid, says these printers can be carried on the palm of ones hand and is compatible with camera, phones , laptops and others. The Zink technology will change the way printer works with the new paper and printing technology.

The main component is the Zink paper which is composed of advanced dye crsytals. When exposed to heat they turn into colors. Every time you take a picture there is a heat signature like the amount fo light coming along with it. When the light falls on the paper, depending on that it prints the image with appropriate colors. Before printing the Zink papers are white as normal papers.

Advantages of Zink Technology

  • With the removal of cartilage’s the printers can be super duper small. Meaning they can be incorporated into portable devices like mobile and PDA’s.
  • ZINK prints in a single pass at a consistent speed and quality and regardless of the print width.
  • Leaves no waste stream only the picture is published nothing else.

  • Not Senseitve to light like camera rolls
