Quickly find details of an available WIFI access points on the move

Finding a wireless access points is not difficult but whether its safe or the signal is strong enough and secured is the point. In My dell Studio 15, I have a switch to find if there is any WIFI availble but then again nothing more.  So all you can do is keep connecting and still keep thinking if you are really secured when you are on a tour or a public place.

At this time inSSIDer is one application which will help you to find details on a WIFI access point before you connect to it.

  • If there is any available WI-FI access point
  • Find the signal strength and you get a graph so you can compare them easy. Its called as Received Signal Strength Indication or RSSI ( A value representing the received signal strength of both the mobile unit and the base station. This value is used to initiate a power change or handoff.)
  • You can also see the encryption type they provide.
  • MAC Address
  • And the last and most important is the speed.
