Upload PDF to Google Docs
Finally after a long wait, Google Docs has added support for uploading PDF files to Google Docs Application. But before you get excited let me tell you its a PDF Reader. So all you can do is Read it share among others. It was not surprising that Google Docs came up with this as we saw lately how Sun Added PDF editing support to Open Office , and it wont surpise again if Google comes with editing support too in future.
However there are some of the things which you might not be happy about
- If the PDF files are protected you can not do a search.
- When you do the search from Dashboard of Google docs i.e The Global search on all docs, PDF files are not yet included.
- Though can upload a file of 100Mb 10 MB from desktop but if you upload from web its limited to 2 MB.
Over all its a good move and we sure will be seeing Google Docs PDF support growing more. You can read more on Offical Google Docs Blog
