We have seen many URL shortening services in past but all of them had same principle, redirecting to the original URL and some of them also had tracking services. Now we have another service which is catching up like a fire and its called as Burn URL. Make sense heh!

Burn URL is also a URL shortening service but it doesn’t redirect to original url. Instead it shows the page in a frame with Social Media sharing options on top of the frame i.e. Share to stumble, digg, twitter etc. Its also let users rate the url with point up or down and displays how many times this has been hit. So in short Burn URL is a combo service with

• Sharing features
• Tracking
• Rating
• And of course URL shortening service in the core.

As of now you can use this service but I would love if Twitter Clients like TweetDeck can add this service directly. Burn URL has their API open for this so it should be easy to do it.

Creating account and tracking all the url is also missing here. You will need to remember the URL somehow to find the rating and popularity of it and lastly they should also allow people to choose a good url name which is preferred by many users. Check out BurnURL
