If you had work and you cannot watch your favorite TV show at that particular time, you can start recording them with DV scheduler which allows you to view , record and stream which supports TV, FM radio, USB cameras, and other DirectShow enabled devices.

Installing this software is easy but I would recommend you to check the instruction give at the source page @ http://www.cs.usyd.edu.au/~efax/DVScheduler.html#syntax.  Moreover they have some question answers availble in case you have trouble working with the software.
