What are other people reading – SpotPlex
There are so many interesting articles on the web, so as a reader, how do you get the cream to rise to the top? Most social bookmarking sites like Digg or Reddit takes a user voting approach, but taking a different twist from the norm, Spotplex.com is a hands off way of social bookmarking.

What is Spotplex?
When it first went into beta, Spotplex had an issue where the biggest blogs like Techcrunch just dominated the scene. To solve this, what they implemented in time for the launch was a relative popularity measure. This list sorts articles based on how much more traffic the article received compared to the site’s normal traffic level. Also, the article age is considered in calculating the popularity and older articles get discounted. This new measure gives small-to-medium size bloggers enough opportunity to shine.
What Spotplex though lacks a community of commentors, which drive many social sites forward (which may be a good thing if you consider all the trolls digg has), but this should rise once the number of visitors go up (It currently has a 45,000+ ranking in Alexa).
Keep an eye out for this one.
