Why DVD written using Windows Recording Software does not work on other Computer?

Though many of have Third part CD or DVD recording software but If you are using Windows Recording Software then you just need to know this. Many a times I had seen people saying and it happened with me lately when I tried running a DVD written using Windows Recording Software and it didn’t work.

It was strange but the problem seems to have no solution. That makes us say, Why did they even tried making a recording software right ? . I agree that Windows Recording software isn’t that good compared to what we get in third party software but here is solution to the “  Disk Not working in other computers when written or burned using Windows Recording Software

This tutorial is in reference with 30 Days Windows Vista Tutorials and Guide

Windows Vista 30 day guide

  • Right Click on the recording Drive
  • Select Properties and Switch to Recording Tab
  • Select Global Settings ( You might need here an administrative privilege)
  • Select the checkbox which says

Closing Sessions :
You need to close the session in order for the disc to work
on other computers. Each close session consumes an
additional 20MB of disc space.

Automatically close the current UDF session when the   disc is ejected

Windows Recording Software settings

This is exactly where the problem lies. This is also a drawback that we can’t read a disc in any other computer unless we have closed the sesssions. The checkbox makes sure the UDF sessions gets closed and your disc works fine any where used.
