I want to know that is their any possible way to install c drive and install windows without cd process .

My cd box is not working and I want to install windows . when we go to bios than we have to select cd drive as our first booting option but what I can do if my cd option is not working .

I have connected my flash drive to my PC. While working, suddenly the power was off and came after 2 mins. When I tried to open it, it is saying "Please insert a disk into drive X".

I tried all knows ways but went in vain.
[1] I tried, un-plugged and plugged it again.
[2] I tried, system reboot by disconnecting the flash drive and connecting it after the boot.
[3] I tried, changing the drive letter.
[4] I tried, connecting it to another PC

It consists of some imp data. Please help.

My DELL got two partitions. Vista is in "C" and I was been trying to install Ubuntu in "D". When the process reached to select the partitions, I found three partition options. Not aware of the third one. But the one which I kept as "D" - which 'm not able to process. The error it was delivering is, [b]root file system missing[/b] something like that.

Then I selected another option where it has provided to select the partition "C" and said, Ubuntu will get install in parallel to Vista. And also provided a seek bar to select how much space I want to assign it to Ubuntu. I tried that also by selecting 100 GB. Then a message appeared saying [b]Resizing partition 0% - This may take several minutes[/b] I waited for 1 hour but there was no response.

So suggest me how to get rid off this and move further ?

Since last few days, I'm not able to view my D drive in the Explorer. Whereas I'm able to access it by hitting the drive letter or thw path in the address bar/via run cmd. Wht could be the reason? How to get it back?

I am also using the Linksys wireless WRT54G. I have a cable modem instead of a ADSL modem. My LAN setting is set at obtaining IP address automatically. I had already reset the router to make sure the router ip is reset to 192.168.1.1. Still, no acess to the admin interface. Any idea?

why is that only 192.168.x.x is used for LAN connections?why no other series of class C addr?
