    Hi!

    I have a question.

I have installed the files in the Windows 32 folder installed the DirectX 10 from MS home and used the "dx.10 exe."
The only thing I have'nt used yet is the "Windows Express" stuff ( wich still under downloading).

But if I look under "dxdiag" in my Windows XP Pro sp3. It actually says " DirectX version: DirectX 10.0 (4.10.0000.5512)

And the DirectX and Direct draw works.

And the few games I have tested so far looks better. Now, I also installed the Forceware 185.20 driver. So it could be this driver have up the image quality some too. As this driver is said to enhance the image quality quite much.

But all the games runs very smooth on high settings (I have a 8800GT 512mb over clocked to 8800GTS 512mb speeds btw.

But the main question is: Do I really need the Windows Express program then?

The games I have tested are: Tiger Woods 2008, FIFA 2009 and Battlefield 2 All looks and runs as said very nice.

Another thing btw. How do I locate the Microsoft DirectX SDK folder? I have searched without success.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi!

Yeah, it actually looks that way. I have tried the Crysis game for ex. And now I can enable the very high settings too!

And if I try to run Battlefield 2 in DX 10 I get a beep and a black screen. I have to use the KX DX Changer, and set it to "DirectX 9.0C only" to be able to play that game.

    Thanks!!!

Ok so I downloaded directx10 RC2 Fix 3, I didn't download it for games, i needed it for a game creator called FPS Creator X10, which requires directx10, I tried installing directx 10, but when I tested the game (which required directx10, as well as launching the real game) it crashed (which was the symptom of not having directx10) please help! I really want the x10 version of FPS Creator because there are way more features, and my operating system is Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3 with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ and my video card is a GeForce 7300 GS and by the way, is that good? :) Is it possible for me to get directx10 to work? I already installed it, and all my programs that say which directx I have(I went on control panel, NVIDIA Control Panel) and they all said directx10, but FPS Creatorx10 still crashes, and I'm pretty sure it's cause of directx10 not installing properly or sumthin plz help.

oh and briang, your computer thinks you still have dx9... I might not be correct, but look at control panel and look at system info, or sumthin similar to that, I bet you it'll say directx9

Its great to know this news, but not all games work out fine. For instance the games that worked fine are SWAT 4, America's Army, Operation Flash Point, Delta Force Black Hawk Down.

But the game that did not work but gave an error (not actual message): "Needs Direct 9c or higher. please install" is BattleField 2.

    From WhereWolf's message, quoting here:
"And if I try to run Battlefield 2 in DX 10 I get a beep and a black screen. I have to use the KX DX Changer, and set it to "DirectX 9.0C only" to be able to play that game."

Questions is "KX DX Changer" ? How did he do it? Where did he get this option from? If you are referring to some software called "Kx" DirectX changer? Where is the link to this?

My system specs is a laptop with (I know, I know, its lousy) Intel 4500M graphics with total video ram of 1 GB. Core Duo processor running at 2.2 GHz, 4 GB Ram under Winxp (yeah I know, 32 bit has only 3 gb of ram access. Had vista 64 bit, which i did not like and down graded to xp)

Thank you for any solution how to get BF2 up and running.
