Ext2 IFS ( Installable File system ) is freeware which provides Windows NT4.0/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 full access to Linux Ext2 / ext3 volumes (read access and write access).
This is pretty useful when you have Linux and Windows installed as Dual boot environment and you want to access files in Ext2 File system. Since Ext3 is reverse compatible with ext2, you can access ext3 file system from windows. You can imagine this like mounting ext2 / ext3 file system on Windows
This software installs the pure Linux kernel mode. This extends the Windows system to include ex2 or ext3 system like any other hardrive. You can imagine this as a drive which talks with the ext3 partition of Linux. In fact the partition of ext2 or ext3 is included as partition in windows with a drive name assigned.
