Two weeks back, just around the farmer update, Google released an extension which was able to filter websites from the search you make on Google Search Engine. Now this has become official with Google Rolling out this feature as part of the search strategy. Now for every result that is given to you from Google will have an additional link which will say “Block all example.com results”. If you are already signed in your Google Account, this will be listed under Manage Blocked Sites.
The good part of this is that you do not need to be dependent on any extension and can be used with any browser (Chrome 9+, IE8+ and Firefox 3.5+). The feature is being rolled out so if you are not seeing it yet, wait for couple of days. Read more on the official Google Blog Page.
My view on this is that it’s a very good move but we will have to see how smartly people use it and I am assuming this will help Google tweak the farmer update based on mass.
