Visiting Google.com, I was greeted by a new message from Google which says “New! Introducing the Chromebook. Built and optimized for the web.” which means the chromebooks did hit the store today. The price of chromebook is between 349$ to 499$. These are Samsung Series 5 and Acer models which come in WiFi and 3G.
Best Buy is not selling any of the Acer Model where as there are two Acer Models on the Amazon.

Samsung Models which costs 499$ have mobile broadband embedded while one with 429 are Energy Star Qualified and only WIFI models. That are the only differences. Apart from that Samsung Models look very smart against the odd looking Acer models which look similar to chromebooks which was distributed for free sometimes back.
Will you buy Chromebook ?
That’s a million dollar question because when you do you switch your OS and so possibly will need all the software transition but then again you will need to ask if you need to switch or just use this as an extra laptop which can be used in travel while all your data is there on the cloud. I am sure you know what Chromebook is if not go read about it here
Possibly for users who love to just surf the internet watch movies and stuff like that this might be a damn good product and specially for Google product users. However looking at configuration I still find it costly 2GB of RAM and 16Gb of hard disk space is something which is low and some users will prefer iPad or another tablet. However the beauty of Chromium does not need much of RAM but space still is too low.
Summarizing, If I am user who has good internet speed and have a backup server at home I can trust to get all my data to the clouds and use this Chromebook but if not It doesnt solve all the purpose.
