How to Download DirectX 10.1 from Vista Service Pack 1

DirectX 10.1, The Directx 10 extension that available download via Windows Vista Services Pack 1 Build 6001.16659. This is a huge improvement over of DirectX 10

The new features of DirectX 10.1 are :

  • Shading and texturing capabilities,
  • Anti-aliasing improvements, with tighter specifications

  • Install and reboot the computer after installing each update: KB935509, KB937287 and KB93837.
  • After the final reboot, you will get the option to download Windows Vista SP1 in Windows Update.
  • Verify that you have DirectX 10.1 by running dxdiag from the command prompt.

  4. hello..uhmm i have a problem installing dx 10.1.

    i have an ati 4870 and an vista ultimate sp1

    i tried to do the things that you did above and when i run the batch file with “run as admin” it pops up a cmd windows very quickly and then close. i dont know if that was normal.

    and when i try to view the windows update. i can see the 3 updates at the “installed updates” and they are already installed without my permission. @_@

    sooo i was expecting everything was right. then i restarted the pc and see if i have the directx 10.1 already. but still it has the dx 10 .

  7. i have the same problem as the other two people the cmd closed pretty much instatanious and i checked my already istalled and after long searching i found that they had been installed last year sometime i havnt tryed rebooting yet but i dont think it will change if it didnt in the past 20 months

    I am usuing Window Vista, when I play games it gives me information which says that my computer needs directX 10. so I have been trying to download this software to solve the problem.

  10. I have run the .cmd file but after i run it nothing happened and i restart my notebook, nothing happened too, and i can’t see changes on windows update. i have vista sp2, please reply me, my gpu is ati hd 4570, it can run dx10, so it must can also run dx10.1
