iBall Slide Review

Slide Gorgeo 4GL comes with a shiny rear finish with design on it which adds to the grip. Its something between Matte and Shiny. That said, plastic shiny rear surrounds the edge of the tablet which makes it look really good. The rear houses the speaker, the camera module, the flash. It also has a compartment which holds the SIM slots, and microSD card.

The front of the tablet houses the 7 inch screen with silver borders which are a good replacement for black bezels. It also includes the in-call speaker, front camera, and flash.

That said lets talk about the screen which you will be staring at most of the time. Its IPS LCD scree @720P, its sharp, and colours actually look good. I compare this with Nexus 7 which I have been using, and I found it better on iBall Slide.

That said, the touch experience isn’t really smooth. Its a huge finger print magnet, and its not as smooth as expected. I did try it side by side with Nexus 7, and I wasn’t wrong.

Specifications :

It is powered by Cortex A53 64-bit  1GHz quad-core processor, and 1 GB RAM. When it comes to internal storage, the tablet packs in an 8 GB of internal storage, along with 32 GB of microSD support.

The differentiating factor here are the cameras. Slide George 4GL sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. They both are accompanied by FLSH. Yes, it is surprising to see front camera with flash, but they mostly helpful to improve video calling experience, but not selfies.

The Tablet can be used for calling with its Dual SIM support. You get Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Micro-USB connectivity options. The battery included in the tablet is 3500 mAh.

Performance:

I have used the tablet mostly with apps like Facebook, Clan of Clash, WhatsApp, Asphalt 8 Airborne, Listening to Music, Instagram and so on. Being a tablet, one will indent to use it mostly for media consumption, entertainment,  and casual browsing. While most of the time it worked just fine there was noticeable lag here and there, you cant miss them. Many a times I had close the apps, and then start again.

iBall Slide Discomark Test Result

We also tested it through the Disco Mark App to find the performance, and with 10 apps running it results in 56 seconds of turn out time. This is a lot IMO. While I don’t have stats for another table, compared this to phones which only have 5 to 8 second in general.

What’s inside the Package ?

  • Cover / Pouch
  • Cleaning Cloth.
  • Long USB OTG Cable.
  • Ergonomic earphones.
  • Charger head + USB

Verdict:

The tablet is officially priced at Rs 7,725 with best price of Rs 6,999.  While it supports 4G with 720P display with great accessories, I am not really happy with its performance.
