iPhone not syncing with Yahoo address book [ Apple Updates ]

In case your iPhone is giving exception when you try to sync Yahoo address book with your iPhone , its time you should get iTunes 7.5 or later if you use Windows or Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later if you use a Mac.

Apple confirmed  that :

The alert “iTunes could not connect to iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000025)” may appear when trying to sync your iPhone in iTunes.

Products affected

  • iTunes for Windows 7.4 and earlier
  • iPhone

It seems many users are trying to connect their iPhone or iPad with OLD USB hardware i.e. Older than 2.0 where as Apple Recommends High Speed USB 2.0. If you connect to Older USB hardware you can also get errors like :

  • Sudden Disconnection when syncing which sometimes result in partial transfer of files.
  • If you have used Windows Vista or 7, sometimes you get popup message which says “This device can perform faster if connected to High Speed USB. A similar error message can be seen in this case also.

Solution :  Update to Latest version of iTunes and make sure you are connected to high speed USB 2.0.

  1. OK, I have iTunes 8.1.1(10). I cannot get it to synch with my Yahoo address book. I always seem to get “because an unknown error occurred (6).” What gives?

  2. There is a fix to this that works, I’ve tried it (read on). I had the same problem (except that it said “Itunes cannot connect with Yahoo Address Book because of an unknown error (6)”. This happened even with later versions of ITunes (9.1.1). Reinstalling itunes and resetting It can be fixed using the following workaround:

It can be fixed using the following workaround:

You basically need to find two DLLs in the C:windowssystem32 directory and replace them with the ones they recommend you download.
