How to Sort Bookmarks in Edge, Chrome and Firefox

Efficient bookmark management is essential for easy surfing. To maintain organization, you can organize bookmarks in Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. These browsers offer choices to sort items alphabetically, chronologically, or in a customized order. How to Sort Bookmarks in Edge, Chrome and Firefox

Each of these web browsers has a different procedure, so let us get started:

  2. Google Chrome
  3. Mozilla Firefox

1] Microsoft Edge

On Edge, Bookmarks are known under the name Favorites. So, let us see how to sort Favorites on Edge.

  • Open the Edge web browser and click the three-dots menu at the top right corner of the page.

  • Choose Favorites from the context menu.
  • Right-click the Favorites bar and select Sort by name from the context menu. All the items you have marked as Favorites will be sorted alphabetically.

You can sort the bookmarks manually by dragging them based on your preference. Also, Edge cannot sort the bookmarks by date.

2] Google Chrome

Let us see how to sort bookmarks in Chrome:

  • Open Chrome web browser on your Windows PC and click the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the browser.

  • Click Other bookmarks on the left pane. It will display all the web pages you have bookmarked. Now, click the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the page and select the Sort by name option from the context menu.

All the bookmarks get sorted alphabetically. Note that Chrome does not have an option to sort the bookmarks by date.

3] Mozilla Firefox

Sorting bookmarks on Firefox is simple. Let us see how:

  • Open the Firefox web browser and click the hamburger menu at the top right corner of the browser.

  • Click Manage bookmarks.

Once you choose any of the abovementioned options, the bookmarks are sorted accordingly. Like Edge and Chrome, Firefox cannot sort the bookmarks by date. However, you can drag and drop the bookmarks according to your preferences.
