Windows 7 like vista has search integrated within start menu i.e. Meaning you can do most of the search including file search withing start menu itself. In Windows 7 the search results are listed in group according to type which depend on file types and also what you are searching.
Noticeable part is Start menu search does not result all the files and folders which matches the search criteria in Start menu. Your item could be hidden at the end.
So if you want to see more details and listing you need to hover your mouse over the search result group name and it would open the group result in another window with more items which you can discover.
