No matter which Windows Phone 7 you are buying, you will see a lot of icons which tells you whats on off or where you are connected through the phone. The best part of these icons is that they aren’t static like just on off but anytime something changes they pop up for a short period. The most common set of status icons are :
- Signal Strength which includes an AirPlane mode where Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connections, all are turned off simultaneously.
- What kind of cellular connection you have i.e. GPRS, Edge, 3G or HSDPA/HSUPA.
- Call Forwarding, Roaming, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Language, Battery and Clock.
The airplane mode is an excellent example of how this feature will become a standard soon which can be even approved by government where at least you can listen to songs and use apps keeping your phone off. I remember that I was asked to turn my phone off even though I had turned of cellular connection, wi-fi and bluetooth in my BlackBerry off as the flight attendants where not sure about it.
